About Us
Mawson Motors is a VACC member and was established in Geelong in 1982 but can trace it origins back to Mick Mawson who first opened for business in Winchelsea in 1964. Since then the business has grown steadily and we now employ five staff including fully qualified Hybrid, light and heavy vehicle technicians, office administrative and customer care management staff.
We pride ourselves in being up to date with the latest industry best practices and are constantly updating our skills to keep abreast of the ever changing technologies in the automotive industry. We were one of the first independent businesses in Geelong to offer fuel injector cleaning and have recently updated to the latest digital oscilloscope and computer based scanning and diagnostic tools to service all local, Asian and European makes and models.
With the emergence of Hybrid and Electric vehicle technologies Mawson Motors has again taken the lead in the local market and gained the services of one of the regions most knowledgeable and experienced Hybrid vehicle technicians. We have also retrained key staff and have the latest highly specialized equipment needed to maintain and service Hybrid vehicles.
At Mawson Motors we understand the difficulties faced by women when choosing and dealing with a mechanic to look after their vehicle and our professional female customer care manager, Theresa, is there to help you every step of the way. Theresa has extensive industry knowledge and experience and has been with us for more years than she would like us to mention here and understands the needs of both our female and male clients!
One of our core business activities is the maintenance, repairs and road worthy testing of heavy vehicles and buses. Our head mechanic Rod has been with us since we moved to Geelong and has all the specialist skills needed to work on these vehicles. Robin the business owner has extensive industry experience and has trained many of the regions best heavy stream mechanics in over a decade spent working for the regions best training institution.
Although most of our work is on modern cars and trucks we certainly have a passion for the old. We regularly take on mechanical restoration projects and there is always something interesting in the workshop. Some of our most recent projects include an engine rebuild for a 1929 Dodge fire engine and the complete restoration of a World War II Willys Jeep.
